How can I help my child with:
I. Vocabulary:
Make flashcards for all contents with:
1. Front English, back native language
2. Drill your child nightly
II. Reading:
Reading literature:
1.Read with your child and listen to him/her read to you
2.Ask your child to orally summarize : Beginning, Middle, and End
3. When appropriate , add higher level thinking questions such as:
a. Do you agree with what the main character did ?
b. How would you change the ending if you were the author?
c. How would the story change if it was told from the view of.......to
a different view?
III. Writing: When done...
1. Have your child read aloud what he/she wrote
2. Help fix the run-on sentences
3. Enhance the writing with figurative languages learned
4. Proudly publish his/ her work
